Dearest friends,
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you all to the Michigan City Chamber Music Festival’s (MCCMF) 24th season! None of us could have imagined that we would be celebrating 24 years of sharing the world’s greatest music, but here we are. This year, we once again present world-class artists to perform free concerts by the greatest composers ever, past and present. The MCCMF is delighted to highlight the very important contributions of female musicians to classical music, “WORLDWIDE WOMEN!,” so many of whom have been completely forgotten by history.
Among the pieces will be a world premiere by award winning composer, Alyssa Morris, performed by Nancy Ambrose King and Trevor King; not to be missed! As always, we will present the great masterpieces as well; music by Giuseppe Verdi, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, a celebration of Maurice Ravel’s 150th birthday, and some piano music of Franz Liszt made famous by the inimitable BUGS BUNNY! So, come enjoy the greatest music ever written, meet our musicians, and support your community with us!
